~ Training For People Who Use Services ~
Cheshire Local Implementation Network will be running two training sessions for people who use serivces.
- Are you a user of social care of health services?
- Do you know how decisions would be made if you were to lose capacity to make some decisions due for example to dementia, brain injury or mental illness?
- Did you know that the new law can give you some safeguards when decisions are being made in your ‘best interests’?
- Did you know that a new Lasting Power of Attorney will replace the old Enduring Power of Attorney, and will include decisions about health and well-being, not just money?
This free training will provide essential information on aspects of the new Mental Capacity Act which came into force in October 2007. This training will:
- give you a clear outline of what you need to know about the Act,
- give you an opportunity to discuss your concerns in small groups with others, with someone to help ask the questions
- answer the “what if…?” and “how would….?” questions and concerns you may have.
