~ Maire Gibson ~
(Chair)
Maire is married and lives in Bulkeley, rural Cheshire. Maire was formerly the Head of Mental Health for the former South Cheshire Health Authority. Following her retirement, she became a Non Executive Director for Cheshire West Primary Care Trust (PCT) and is now a Non Executive on Western Cheshire PCT. Prior to working in Chester, Maire's long career in health and social care included being a hospital-based social worker in London and Liverpool and in Child Mental Health Services. Maire was a lecturer on a postgraduate social work course in Liverpool and also worked for health and social services in Sefton. She then became a civil servant in the Department of Health working in the Social Services Inspectorate for 13 years followed by a secondment to the former Mersey and North West regional health authorities. She is now active in the voluntary sector within Cheshire and also does some independent consultancy.

~ Brian Bowles ~
(Trustee)
The retired Chairman is one of two founding trustees on the Board of Cheshire Community Voice. He has worked in three statutory sectors, mainly in a mental health capacity as well as in the independent sector. Brian currently chairs the Crewe & Nantwich Local Care Forum (part of Cheshire Community Voice) as well as a mental health voluntary organisation, the Central Cheshire Mental Health Forum and it's steering group. He works part time dealing in secondhand books. Brian received five, four year Secretary of State Appointments to Community
Health Councils between 1989 and 2000. He is an Official Visitor for Cheshire County Council on community residential care homes. His last employed post was as senior lecturer in Applied Social Sciences.

~ Bill Brookes ~
(Trustee)
Bill is also a founder member of Cheshire Community Voice and was involved in the transition period to become an independent charity. He has previously chaired the Congleton Local Care Forum. Bill is a retired Hospital Pharmacist, working within the National Health Service for over 40 years and was responsible for the Pharmacist services to Leighton Hospital at his retirement. Bill is currently a member of the Central Cheshire PCT Patient and Public Involvement Forum (PPIF) and is currently active in the development of the proposed Local Involvement Networks (LINks).

~ Jane Smart~
(Trustee)
Jane had a very successful career in the insurance industry and in IT Service Management, and has strong project, service and people management experience. She changed career path in 2000 and became a ‘full time’ volunteer, working as an advocate for disabled people, their families and carers in critical and life-changing situations in South Hampshire. An experienced charity trustee, she has successfully utilised her skills, knowledge and energy for school associations, The Scout Association, The Parkinson’s Disease Society and the Hampshire Children’s Fund Panel. She has also worked with refugees and asylum seekers in the Ethnic Minority Achievement Service. Jane and her family moved back to Cheshire in 2006, and she now works part time for The Stroke Association, based at Leighton Hospital, running Communication Support Groups for stroke survivors in Crewe and Alsager. She has a strong interest in promoting the engagement and welfare of all young people and disabled people within our communities.

~ Chris Tansey ~
(Independent Consultant)
Chris joined the National Health Service in 1974. She originally trained as a nurse and developed a career in nursing until 1992. From 1992 onwards, Chris moved into General Management in the NHS and successfully completed a post-graduate Diploma and Masters degree in Business Management. From April 2002 until recently, Chris was the Director of Corporate Development for Central Cheshire PCT. As a result of Central and Eastern Cheshire's recent merger, Chris is now Associate Director for Organisational Development for Central & Eastern Cheshire PCT. Chris' main areas of professional interest are in partnership working, organisational development and effectiveness, communications, patient and public influence and staff influence.

~ Hilda Yarker ~
(Chief Executive)
Hilda joined Cheshire Community Voice during the period of transition from a formal network facilitated by Cheshire County Council to an independent body with Charitable Status. She joins us with a wealth of experience regarding the health and social care agenda, predominantly within the voluntary and community sectors. Her career began within Financial/Project Management and following a short career break in the mid-nineties, she pursued a different career path in the Public Health agenda, establishing her own business in Alternative Therapies before embarking on a BSc and MSc degree course in Public Health. She is an established trainer and facilitator and has previously presented at the House of Lords. Hilda has worked extensively in community programmes which promote engagement and participation in health and social care and has a particular interest in promoting participation amongst the most marginalised members of society. She was a previous member of the Community Health Council and was the inaugural Chair of the Cheshire and Wirral Partnerships Trust's PPI Forum when it was established in 2004. Hilda has been a Trustee of a number of charities over the years and has a comprehensive understanding of the governance structures which underpin today's charitable sector.

~ Louise Stocker ~
(Marketing & Development Co-ordinator)
Louise joined Cheshire Community Voice in March 2007 as the Marketing & Development Co-ordinator. Louise previously worked in the IT and Internet sector for a number of years and was seeking out new challenges which brought her in the direction of the voluntary sector. Louise came to CCV with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Open University and a Diploma in Psychology and English Literature from Manchester Metropolitan University. Since joining CCV, Louise has designed and developed our new website and produced our e-stationary. She has also been supporting Hilda in the office and at meetings around the county. Although this is her first time in the third sector, she is thoroughly enjoying the challenges presented and the ongoing opportunities. Louise continues to develop her skills in line with the health and social care agenda.

~ Ann Kenwright~
(Project Manager)
Ann has recently joined Cheshire Community Voice as a Project Manager. She has a background in psychology and has extensive experience of working within the voluntary sector facilitating training and therapeutic groups for both vulnerable people with multi complex needs, and also for professionals who are interested in on-going professional development. Ann’s specialised topical areas include understanding bullying, emotional and sexual health, building strong and enduring family and social relationships, building self-esteem, self-awareness and positive self-image. Ann is currently developing a new range of projects for Cheshire Community Voice with a strong relational focus. The aim of this work is to build assertiveness and self-esteem, and raise personal expectations, through developing emotional intelligence and literacy within the family and educational environment.
